Fremantle could make several changes to their team for Matthew Pavlich’s 353^rd and final game against the Western Bulldogs at Domain Stadium on Sunday.

Veteran ruckman Aaron Sandilands is expected to return from a tweaked gluteal muscle and line up alongside Pavlich for the 232^nd time in his career, while senior coach Ross Lyon said he was “open to sentiment”, which could see some of the club’s stalwarts – and Pavlich’s closest teammates – earn a recall.

A number of players also performed well in Peel’s 17-point loss to Subiaco on Saturday to put their name forward for selection in Fremantle’s last match of 2016.

Matt de Boer
The on-baller has been one of Peel’s most consistent players this season, averaging 30 possessions, 3.75 marks and 7.3 tackles per game. De Boer’s leadership and persistence were on show again in a 33-disposal, nine-tackle effort against Subiaco. The 26-year-old also shares a strong friendship with Pavlich, which could factor in his selection.

Tendai Mzungu
Mzungu’s WAFL form has been formidable. The versatile utility has averaged 24.6 touches in nine appearances for Peel this season, including 20 possessions, four tackles, four marks and a goal against the Lions.  Like de Boer, the 30-year-old has lined up alongside Pavlich for significant parts of his career and would be pushing his case to play with him one last time.

Nick Suban
The hard-working midfielder hasn’t played for Freo since he was omitted following the side’s round 18 loss to Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium. Suban has averaged 20 possessions, five marks and five tackles in four matches for Peel, and travelled with the senior side to Sydney as an emergency. A hard-edged and determined Bulldogs outfit may be the perfect test for the 26-year-old.
