Fremantle's interstate selections in the National Draft got to know each other in the arrivals lounge of Perth Airport on Thursday after a whirlwind week.
Tom Emmett's plane from South Australia landed just minutes before Max Knobel and Corey Wagner arrived from Melbourne, with the three having a brief moment to introduce themselves before collecting their bags and heading to the South West for Freo's four-day community camp.
Emmett, a fan of electronic music, even came prepared with a strategy for the car ride.
"It's good to get here and get off the plane and get stuck into it. It's been a whirlwind and now I've got my feet on the ground in WA," the forward said.
"It will be good to listen to some of their music as I won't be playing mine! At my other footy clubs I play my music and they rip into me, so I'll just ease into this one and instead get into them for their tracks.
"It's good to straight into camp and get to know them."
Hardship makes Emmett's AFL dream clearer
Friday will be Emmett's first chance to meet members of the Purple Army, with Fremantle holding an Open Training from 3pm at Bovell Oval in Busselton.
"It's such a great Club and I'm keen to meet everyone and say g'day. It's an awesome supporter base and I'm keen to meet them," Emmett said.
"I'm excited to see the South West. I have a mate that did his gap year during the pandemic down in Margaret River near where we're going. He absolutley loved it so I'm excited to head south but also check out the whole of WA."
