Fremantle midfielder Gabby O’Sullivan is pushing for a return this Saturday against Carlton at Fremantle Oval.
In the Perth Radiological Clinic Injury Update for round four, Senior Physio Gabby Charlton said O’Sullivan would have two main training sessions to get through prior to being cleared for selection.
“Gabby completed a really solid running session over the weekend,” Charlton said.
“She’s got a couple of training sessions to get through this week, but all going well, she should be available for this weekend.”
Unfortunately, injured pair Makaela Tuhakaraina and Matilda Sergeant have had setbacks in their recoveries.
Tuhakaraina was a chance to return as early as this week from a shoulder injury before coming down with an illness, while Sergeant’s recovery from a foot injury will take longer than initially hoped.
“Tux performed really well on her shoulder testing however she fell unwell over the weekend and this will delay her return to football,” Charlton said.
“She’ll work closely with our Club doctors in the coming days just to make sure she’s back to full health before she returns.
“Tildy had some follow up scans on her foot late last week but unfortunately they haven’t come back as good as we hoped.
“She’ll keep going through her off-loading phase before she enters a reconditioning phase, hopefully in the next couple of weeks.”
Both Kara Antonio (hamstring) and Ebony Antonio (knee) are making progress in their returns from long-term injury.
“They’re tracking really well,” Charlton said.
“Kara’s started ticking off some running sessions and we hope to integrate some skill work into her rehab this week.
“We hope to see Ebony running towards the back end of this week as well.”
