Forward Gabby O’Sullivan will be unavailable for selection for Fremantle’s round three clash against the Western Bulldogs at Ikon Park on Friday night.
O’Sullivan came off the ground with tightness in her hamstring during the second quarter of Fremantle’s clash with Geelong in round two and she did not return for the rest of the game.
In the Perth Radiological Clinic injury update for round three, Senior Physio Gabby Charlton said scans had confirmed a strain for O’Sullivan.
“We pulled Gabby from the Geelong game with some right hamstring awareness,” Charlton said.
“Unfortunately, scans have come back with a small strain. Gabby will enter a reconditioning phase but she’ll be unavailable for Friday.”
In positive news, defender Jess Low is a chance to make her return after sustaining a concussion in round one.
“Jess is progressing well through the AFL’s concussion protocols,” Charlton said.
“She’s on track to return given that she ticks off the next couple of phases in the subsequent days.”
Fremantle are hopeful of bolstering their forward stocks later this month as Makaela Tuhakaraina continues her recovery from a shoulder injury.
“’Tux’ has completed a solid couple of weeks at training,’ Charlton said.
“She’s got some final return to play testing to complete at the back end of this week.
“Should that testing go well, she will be available for selection in the next couple of weeks and we’re looking forward to seeing her back on the field.”
