Fremantle are hopeful that both Nat Fyfe and Sam Switkowski can make their returns from injury before the end of the home and away season.

In this week’s Perth Radiological Clinic Injury Update, Executive General Manager of Football Peter Bell provided a timeline on the pair.

After injuring his hamstring in round 19 against Richmond, Fyfe is targeting a return in round 23 against GWS, while Switkowski has his eyes on the round 22 RAC Derby as he recovers from a back injury.

“We’ve got a target of round 23 for Nat, obviously there’s a bit of work to do before we get there but that’s our target,” Bell said.

“The week before in round 22, we’re hoping that Sam Switkowski will be available for selection.

“Sam’s a really important player for us, so if he is to come back it will be really positive.”

Fremantle key forward Josh Treacy did not play for Peel against East Perth due to illness and is cleared to play this week, while fellow forward Jye Amiss (kidney) is continuing to build.

“Josh pulled up crook on Saturday morning. It’s all pointing towards a positive recovery and he should be available this week,” Bell said.

“Jye is going pretty well, we’ll be in constant dialogue with the specialist.

“Every day he’s getting better, it’s great to have him back out there. We haven’t put a line through him for the season, that’s for sure, so he’s training well.”
