The Freo coach said he was confident Matthew Pavlich would play despite being a test for Sunday’s game against North Melbourne.
“The champion that he is, he’ll find a way,” Lyon said.
Lyon labelled the Kangaroos clash a critical game but one the club was excited to be in.
“We control our own destiny,” he said.
“It’ll be a great game in Melbourne and we’re looking forward to getting over there and challenging North Melbourne.”
Lyon also spoke about the tough week he had faced in the media with the Jon Griffin late withdrawal and a fake Twitter account pretending to be him.
