Five players are in the mix for inclusion for Sunday’s clash against Essendon at Marvel Stadium, with Lachie Schultz the only omission at this stage under the AFL’s Health and Safety Protocols.

Alex Pearce, Caleb Serong, Darcy Tucker, Nathan Wilson and Bailey Banfield have all been added into the extended squad of 26.

Pearce was a last-minute omission against GWS due to ankle soreness and was replaced by Griffin Logue, while Serong (knee) and Tucker (concussion) also missed the game due to injury.

Banfield has been named as a medical sub for the past two weeks. He came on late against West Coast and kicked a goal but was unused against the Giants.

Wilson is yet to play an AFL game this year, injuring his shoulder in the AAMI Community Series game against West Coast in March at Optus Stadium. The game will be the defender's 150th in the AFL if he is selected.

In Thursday’s media conference, Senior Coach Justin Longmuir said Banfield would likely replace Schultz up forward, while Pearce, Tucker and Serong would play if fit.

For Essendon, Will Snelling (calf) is the only out at this stage, while Kaine Baldwin, Ben Hobbs, Nik Cox and Tom Cutler have come into the extended squad.

Bouncedown for the game is at 4.40pm EST (2.40pm WST) and will be broadcast live on Channel 7, Fox Footy and streamed on Kayo.
