Throughout the 20 years of the Starlight Purple Haze game, proudly presented by South32, Fremantle have had the pleasure of getting to know many beautiful children through the Starlight Children's Foundation.
Bringing these kids in and being able to put a smile on their faces means the world to the Club.
In 2018, we welcomed Starlight Star Caleb Ramsey.
Caleb is a very brave young Freo fan who spent time with Freo players in hospital through the Starlight Children’s Foundation, before getting to sing the song with the team after their win against Gold Coast on Starlight Purple Haze game day in 2018.
We spoke to Caleb and his Mum, Kelly, about his experience and how Caleb is going now.

Tell us about yourself! What are your hobbies and interests?
Caleb and Deegan Ramsey. Caleb is high medical needs and Deegan is his big brother / best friend. They both love to watch their Ipads and YouTube and love to play around. Caleb is in hospital a lot and love sleep overs with each other.
Tell us a little bit about your involvement in a previous Purple Haze match. When was it? Who did Freo play and did they win? What were the fun things you got to do? Did you get to meet anyone special?
Caleb was at the last Purple Haze match and met the players especially his fav Brad Hill and Andy Brayshaw. They won against Gold Coast and went on the oval and also back to the change-rooms.
Straight after the game Caleb was taken back to hospital as he was an inpatient at the time but loved every minute of it.
What did being involved in Purple Haze mean to you?
Purple Haze is an outing that you don’t forget. It gives kids like Caleb to be a normal child and forget about being sick for one day and to have fun with his family, especially his brother. It creates memories you never forget.
Who was your favourite player then, and who is your favourite player now?
Caleb's favourite player was Andy Brayshaw. He still adores Andy Brayshaw and his older brother, Angus but fell in love with Hamish Brayshaw at the grand final last year when he attended, so now it's who is better than the other.
