Glendinning-Allan Medallist Lachie Schultz has been awarded the perfect 10 AFLCA coaches’ votes following a stellar performance in the RAC Derby on Sunday night at Optus Stadium.
Chosen as best afield on the night, the small forward had 23 possessions, two goals and nine score involvements to help lead Freo to a 55-point victory.
Labelled the ‘heart and soul’ of Freo, Schultz received high praise from stand-in coach Jaymie Graham.
“It's fantastic for him. He is the heart and soul of this footy Club,” Graham said.
“The players love playing with him, and he brings the same effort each week. It's fantastic that he got some reward, sometimes small forwards don't get the reward.
Midfielder Andrew Brayshaw earned four votes after working off a tag in the first half to finish his night as Fremantle’s highest possession winner with 26 disposals.
Brayshaw was also pivotal to Fremantle’s attack with his 11 score involvements and six inside 50’s, the most from any player on the ground.
Heath Chapman continued his impressive start to the season with 23 disposals and six intercepts to also receive four votes.
Blake Acres (22 disposals, five tackles, eight score involvements, seven intercepts, one goal) and Sam Switkowski (19 disposals, nine score involvements, four clearances, one goal) each received one vote for the game.
