Live the Dream – NOW RECRUITING
For five unforgettable days in July last year, 16 young men received the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to immerse themselves in the culture of the Fremantle Dockers Football Club and ‘live the life’ of an AFL player
‘Live The Dream’ offered participants a rare opportunity to develop skills and behaviours that can deliver long-term benefits to the individual and their local community.
The Fremantle Dockers, in conjunction with Decmil Australia, are thrilled to again be able to offer this program to the community.
The 2013 Live the Dream program runs from Friday 5 July to Wednesday 10 July, and we want 16 new applicants for this incredible experience.
Nominations must be received by the Fremantle Dockers no later than Friday 17 May 2013.
Live the Dream aims to develop teamwork, leadership skills and problem solving skills under pressure and provides participants with an experience that takes them outside of their comfort zone.
They can then take the skills they’ve learned back to their local community and pass them onto their peers.
Participants will be appointed a Freo Dockers player mentor and engage in physical and skill sessions, learn about conditioning and injury prevention, nutrition, media training and player welfare at the elite level of the game.
They’ll also get to be involved on game day, including a visit to the rooms after Freo’s match against St Kilda at Patersons Stadium in round 15.
And thanks to Decmil Australia, the cost of the program for the 16 participants is free, including meals, accommodation and apparel for the five-day program.
Participants for the 2013 Live the Dream program must be 16 or 17 years of age as at 5 July 2013 and can be nominated from one of the following areas:
• Pilbara Region
• Kimberley Region
• Junior Football Clubs
• City of Fremantle
• Partner clubs of the Fremantle Dockers
• Secondary schools/colleges
