Fremantle forward Roxy Roux believes Freo’s midfield depth helped Fremantle keep Collingwood to their lowest score in history on Thursday night.

Roux was pivotal up forward as a target and kicked the first goal of the game but was impressed with how the team finished off the game, especially in the midfield.

“There’s going to be stand out players here and there," Roux said.

“We are just super excited at the moment because if one person has a bad game, someone else will pop up, as we always have one to cover.”

Roux said that Freo’s midfield depth of Kiara Bowers (26 disposals), Hayley Miller (19 disposals) and Gabby O’Sullivan (18 disposals) was great to watch.

“We focused on ‘Turbo’ last week and we take her ability that she will be at 100 per cent for granted but it is just so even,” Roux said.

“Gabby’s explosiveness in the middle is just something else.

“It is amazing to see her burst through tackles and burst through a whole group, she is a massive influence being in there.

“And Hayley was awesome with her score involvements as well with two goals, she really holds her own.

“I have watched her progress from when I was a young girl just watching her play to the person she is now.

“And now I get to play alongside someone of that calibre.”

Roux is excited for the upcoming rounds in Melbourne and is looking forward to seeing how the team responds to the challenge of being in the Victoria hub.

The forward has her sights on the next few rounds and hopefully, a return to home fans in the coming weeks.

“We are just excited to play another game; we are here to smash out as many games as we can and return home and see what we can do,” Roux said.

“We are happy at the moment and just love the support we have from our fans here in Melbourne and back home.”
