Four Fremantle players have polled in the AFLCA voting for round one, with winger/forward Ebony Antonio picking up the perfect 10.
Antonio made the RAC Derby her own, kicking three goals to help turn the match in Fremantle’s favour, highlighted by a brilliant check side dribble from the pocket in the opening term.
Along with her three majors, Antonio worked hard down the wing to collect 12 disposals, five tackles and two clearances.
The AFL Coaches Association AFLW Champion Player of the Year is an award voted by the AFLW senior coaches on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis after each home and away game, acknowledging outstanding effort to an individual player in a season.
Tied with Antonio for the RAC Derby Medal, Kiara Bowers earned six votes for yet another prolific RAC Derby performance with her 24 disposals, seven clearances and 14 tackles.
It is the third time Bowers has made 14 or more tackles in a match from the four RAC Derby’s that have been played.
Forward Gabby O’Sullivan worked hard all day to finish her game with 17 touches, five tackles, four clearances and a brilliant late goal from long range and was given four votes alongside Hayley Miller.
Miller starred in her first game as captain, dominating in the middle and the forward line with her 16 disposals, nine tackles, six clearances and two goals.
It is the first time the midfielder has had 15+ disposals and two goals in her career.
