The Cultural Immersion Experience offers students in years 5 & 6 a unique opportunity to gain a greater understanding of the cultural significance of the lands in which we are located.

Through collaboration with the Fremantle Dockers, City of Cockburn and Cockburn ARC, students will have the opportunity to connect and participate in a range of cultural and football activities at the Fremantle Dockers state-of-the-art facility in Cockburn.

This event is delivered around NAIDOC week and is free for schools that reside in the City of Cockburn area.

Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony.

For all those who gather on Beeliar Budja, a traditional Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony will commence the event to celebrate the significance of the land and highlight the purpose of NAIDOC Week.

Beeliar Budja Storytelling

Telling the story of Beeliar Budja traces back to the history of the traditional hunting grounds and the people who lived on these lands for thousands of years.

Traditional Dance

Developing an understanding of culture through dance and the association of the people with the land will enable students to truly appreciate this immersive experience.

Cultural History

Walyalup Cultural presentation, providing students with insight into the cultural origins of the Walyalup name and the proud history the Club has with Aboriginal player representation in the AFL.

Jumper Art

Inspired by the Club's history of Indigenous-designed playing jumpers, students have the opportunity to design their own AFL or AFLW Indigenous jumper.

Football engagement

Providing students with the Fremantle Dockers football experience, by conducting an extensive football clinic for all levels of football skill with a select group of our AFL and AFLW listed players.

Group Art

This is the student's opportunity to work with an emerging local artist to produce a unique piece of take-home art that can be displayed at your school premises.
