Stefan Giro and Andrew Brayshaw were happy to see a small but important improvement in their times after running their second 2km time trial of the month on Wednesday.
The pair both shaved one second off their times with Giro taking the win ahead of Bradley Hill and Brayshaw finishing third.
After winning against his fellow first to fourth-year players a fortnight ago, Giro was pleased to back up his efforts while going up against Freo’s five-plus year players.
“It helps having Bradley behind me, just pushing me the whole way,” Giro said.
“I could hear him the whole time so it was good to have him as motivation and to finish in front.”
Brayshaw also shaved one second off his time from a fortnight ago.
“I came in today not thinking I was doing the run and then we were all told we were re-running it,” Brayshaw said.
“It’s not a lot but in two weeks you can build up a fitness base and I’m happy to shave off that one second.
“It’s really pleasing. I was just talking to ‘Stef’ before, he said he was really excited and happy to have a good run.
“I’m really happy for him and it’s good to see the first to four-year guys are all fit and run really well today.”
