High performance manager Jason Weber has given an update on Harley Bennell’s calf after the midfielder came off late for Peel Thunder against West Perth on Saturday.
Weber confirmed that Bennell sustained an injury to his left calf.
“Harley had an incident late in the WAFL game at the weekend,” Weber said.
“At the moment he’s being assessed to determine the extent of the damage and we’ll see how that progresses.”
Weber remains hopeful that Aaron Sandilands will return to before the end of this season following scans late week confirmed a calf strain.
“Last week Aaron suffered some small level damage in that calf,” Weber said.
“We’ll push him along and look to get him back on the field as soon as possible.”
Cam Sutcliffe remains a chance to return late this season after injuring his hamstring against Hawthorn on Sunday.
“Cam damaged his hamstring quite late in the fourth quarter,” Weber said.
“At this stage, he’s got about a three-week hamstring injury.”
Weber said he’s pleased with Nat Fyfe’s work in the rehabilitation group, with the Fremantle captain able to pick up his running speed throughout the week.
“Nat’s progressing really well, he’s really strong,” Weber said.
“He’s ticked off some good KPI’s over the weekend, moving up in his speed.
"We'll look to have him back on the field as soon as possible.”
