Fremantle have added five players to their extended TABtouch squad of 26 for Sunday’s clash with Richmond at the MCG.

There are three forwards among the five inclusions in Brennan Cox, Shane Kersten and Ryan Nyhuis, with Fremantle looking for a replacement for the injured Michael Walters.

Midfielder Tommy Sheridan and defender Ethan Hughes have also been added to the extended squad while Walters is the lone omission at this stage.

Cox has spent time in both the forwardline and defence at Peel this season, averaging 6.5 marks per game. The 19-year-old played 10 games for Fremantle in 2017 and kicked four goals.

Kersten has also been playing a mix of forward and back for Peel in 2018. He played round one for Fremantle against Port Adelaide and kicked 24 goals from 20 appearances for Freo in 2017.

Nyhuis is coming off a two-goal performance as a pressure forward for Peel against East Perth on Sunday. Originally drafted as a defender, the 21-year-old played as a forward for four games with Fremantle in 2017, kicking five goals.

Sheridan was one of Peel’s strongest against East Perth, racking up 29 disposals, six tackles and four inside 50s. The speedy midfielder has played two games for Fremantle in 2018, averaging 12.5 disposals.

Hughes was held over as an emergency against the West Coast and did not play for Peel in round five. The 23-year-old is yet to play for Fremantle in 2018 and has averaged 21.3 disposals and 7.7 marks per game at WAFL level.

The final 22 will be confirmed on fremantlefc.com.au at 3pm on Friday.
