Fremantle's official women’s supporter group, The Sirens, has been busy raising money for Saturday's Purple Haze game to be played at Optus Stadium against the Gold Coast Suns.
So far the group has raised around $9000 in 2018, hosting two very successful events.

Welcoming in the Chinese New Year with their first event, the Sirens attended a Chinese New Year function where they were read their annual horoscope and held a raffle which contributed to their fundraising total.
Their second event for the year was a luncheon held at Cockburn ARC, where the ladies watched their favourite footy players train, before having a visit from Starlight ambassadors Lachie Neale, Griffin Logue, Aaron Sandilands and Andy Brayshaw.
The supporter group also held an auction at the lunch for a signed Fremantle Dockers Indigenous jumper, which sold for $700.
When asked what the best part about being a Siren was, head of The Sirens supporter group, Di Meakins, said it was the camaraderie.
“Being a female supporter, and being able to socialise with other like-minded females who enjoy footy and the banter is probably the best part,” she said.
Meakins said the supporter group was just like a sisterhood.
“It’s a bit of a sisterhood really. Some kind and great long-lasting friendships have been formed due to the Sirens,” she said.
“Most of us are mothers and have kids and grandkids or know someone who’s had a child that’s been a recipient of some of the Starlight money.
The supporter group is proud to help out charities such as Starlight, and is willing to do whatever they can to contribute.
“The money we raise for charities like Starlight gives us all a real sense of pride,” she said.
“We’re all very proud to do whatever we can to help Starlight and to help the Purple Haze total. And we’re extremely proud of our Starlight ambassadors who assist us when they can.”
