Perth Stadium has unveiled its spectacular LED sports lighting system in a social media post sure to get local football fans buzzing.

A full test of what is the world's biggest LED lighting system, which will be used to create stunning visual effects for sporting events and concerts, was conducted on Tuesday night. 

More than 15,000 LED lights have been attached to the roof of the stadium and throughout the Stadium Park precinct.

Perth Stadium's LED lighting will be the first of its kind anywhere in Australia.
