With the Doig Medal Presentation Dinner rapidly approaching, fremantlefc.com.au looks at which players are likely to fare well in Fremantle’s night of nights at the Crown Ballroom on Saturday 7 October.
In 2017, Michael Johnson played his first full season since 2012, a year he finished third in the Doig Medal behind Ryan Crowley and Chris Mayne.
Johnson was especially crucial at the start of the season, proving his versatility to contribute in the ruck as a back-up to Aaron Sandilands.
The veteran defender’s best performance came in Fremantle’s thrilling five-point win over North Melbourne, racking up 26 disposals, 12 contested possessions, three contested marks and kicking a goal.
