Peel Thunder defeated East Perth by 28 points on Saturday at Leederville Oval.
Development coaches Roger Hayden and Brent Guerra run through the performance of the nine Fremantle’s listed players in action for Peel.
Cam Sutcliffe
Played predominantly in the midfield and picked up 21 kicks in his 31 disposals. Cam was strong around the ball and also went forward for periods, putting on good forward pressure. Also had eight inside 50s.
Matt Taberner
Matt kicked five goals as a key forward and was strong in the contest, taking four contested marks. He worked up the ground well and had a lot of the football, with 27 disposals. Made the most of his opportunities.
Josh Deluca
Playing predominantly as a small forward, Josh performed his role well by with 22 touches while being strong in the contest. He won plenty of ground ball and generated three assists and kicked a goal.
Garrick Ibbotson
Played on the wing and gave Peel some good run with 20 disposals. Garrick was paying close attention to East Perth’s Tom Lamb and helped limit his impact on the game.
Danyle Pearce
Played on the wing and also got back around the ball this week, picking up 19 disposals. He delivered four inside 50s and laid four tackles while running out the game well.
Jon Griffin
Playing in the ruck, Jon picked up 45 hitouts and took four marks. He had a strong presence around stoppages and around the ball with a good follow up in the contest.
Sam Collins
Another strong performance as a key defender, Sam performed in the one-on-ones and used the ball well.He played his role, keeping opponent Fraser McInnes off the scoreboard for the day.
Zac Dawson
Competing well up again up forward, Zac had the opportunity to kick a few goals but was the unselfish player and gave them off. He did well to help his teammates and brought them into the game.
Harley Bennell
Played 60 minutes in the forwardline. All we wanted from Harley was to get through the game which he did while picking up 12 touches and kicking a goal, which was promising to see.
Luke Strnadica
Is continuing to develop after playing in the reserves. Luke picked up 35 hitouts, 18 touches and kicked a goal. His work around the stoppage and his ball use was a highlight.
