The wet conditions didn’t dampen the spirits for all those who participated in the HBF School Holiday Fun Day at the George Victor Kailis Oval on Tuesday afternoon.
Freo midfielder and ‘King of the Kids’ Bradley Hill said the day was just as much fun for the players as it was the kids.
“The kids have been enjoying it, it’s good to see a smile on their faces and it makes the day really enjoyable for the players,” Hill said.
“There was a bit of rain but that didn’t bother the kids too much, we just came inside and had a heap of fun on the inflatables.”
The 24-year-old understands the importance of being a role model and is aware of the positive influence days like the school holiday program has on young Freo fans.
“A lot of the young kids know a lot about footy and they have their favourites, you can see their faces light up when they see their favourite players,” Hill said.
“They get so excited and it makes you really happy when you see that.
"Days like today are good for the kids, it’s good for us players and it’s great for the club.”
The club will hold an open training session at the Victor George Kailis Oval on Wednesday morning from 9am.
Freo fans are encouraged to head down and watch the team train as they prepare for this weekend’s match against West Coast.
Players will be available for signings after the training session finishes at approximately 11am.
