Midfielder Bradley Hill has polled top votes in the 2017 Shadforth Financial Group AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year for round seven, awarded 10 out of a possible 10 votes after Freo’s win over Essendon at Domain Stadium.
Senior coaches Ross Lyon and John Worsfold couldn’t go past a performance that saw Hill put up career best numbers.
The former Hawk racked up 37 disposals and 16 marks, bettering his previous best figures of 33 disposals from round nine, 2015 and nine marks from round three, 2014.
But is was Hill’s run that was most impressive, amassing 881 metres gained, the second highest total for the 2017 season behind Dustin Martin’s 898 metres gained in round one.
Lyon and Worsfold handed in nearly identical votes, with Hill, Neale and Taberner earning five, four and three votes respectively from both coaches.
Connor Blakely picked up two votes alongside Essendon’s Zach Merrett, while the Bombers’ Joe Daniher and Cale Hooker picked up one vote each.
