A life changing experience off the field won’t mean a change on the field after Hayden Ballantyne married long-time girlfriend Alyssa Hennessy at the weekend.
The pair tied the knot on Saturday afternoon in North Dandalup in front of family, friends and some familiar Freo faces.
The newly weds didn’t let light showers get in the way of their beautiful ceremony, with Freo’s very own knight in shining armour shielding his bride from the rain.
"It all went off without too many issues. We had a little bit of rain towards the end but only for five or so minutes," Ballantyne said.
"We’ve both got rings on our fingers now and it was a good day. I really enjoyed it."
While Ballantyne admits he's a changed man with Alyssa in his life, he doesn't expect married life to change him on the field.
"It'll be the same old (me), she’s changed me in a lot of ways but I don’t think she could change my footy!"
The couple are proud parents to eight-year-old Avarna and two-year-old Avery.
