Fremantle Dockers CEO Steve Rosich says football can be more affordable for Fremantle members in 2018, with a wide range of seating options becoming available as the club transitions to the new Perth Stadium.
As the seating capacity expands from 43,500 at Domain Stadium to 60,000 at Perth Stadium, so does the selection of seating locations and services available to Freo members.
“We’re doing a lot of work on the transition to the new Perth Stadium, and for our members there will be less expensive options available to members than currently,” Rosich on 6PR’s Sports Today program.
“There’ll be a continuum of products available to members, some of which will be potentially at a higher cost than what is currently available at Domain, but there will also be many that are lower.”
Perth Stadium is set to host AFL football from the 2018 season, and Rosich highlighted the work going on behind the scenes to negotiate a deal that would be fair to the WA football community.
“We’re trying to drive an appropriate deal at Perth Stadium to make sure that it’s affordable to go to the football,” Rosich said.
“There’s no doubt that it will be a great experience from a stadium point of view.”
Built on the river in the Burswood Peninsula, the new Perth Stadium reached 50 per cent completion in early August, with more than 11,000 tonnes of structural steel already installed to bring the stadium frame to 74 per cent completion.
The Perth Stadium precinct will also include a range of transport options, including public a train station and a Swan River pedestrian bridge to link the stadium to East Perth and the CBD.
Fremantle fans can find more information on the Perth Stadium page on the Fremantle FC website, which includes a transition letter to fans, additional seat and grouping forms, and corporate information.
