The chance to play elite level football with his brother, Stephen, was the main reason Bradley Hill came to Fremantle.

Hill, who moved from Hawthorn in exchange for the second round compensation pick Fremantle received when free agent Chris Mayne joined Collingwood, said he was excited to line up alongside his brother.

“That was the main reason, to come back and be around the family,” he said.

“I always had a dream to play at the highest level with my brother.”

The 23-year-old, who played in three premierships during his 95 games for the Hawks, said he was looking forward to lining up alongside the likes of Brownlow Medallist Nat Fyfe and Doig Medallist Lachie Neale.

“I know a lot of the boys through Stephen, so I’m pretty excited to part of this group,” he said.

“I’m getting excited to play alongside those great names.”

Hill was drafted in 2011 by Hawthorn and debuted in 2012 before being an integral part of their 2013 Premiership side, which defeated Fremantle in the Grand Final.

With speed to burn, Hill will provide quick transition through the midfield, which will provide forwards Shane Yarran and new recruit Cam McCarthy with good service in front of goal.

Hill remained relaxed throughout the negotiation period.

“I was actually pretty relaxed. I had people asking me and I said when it happens it happens,” he said.

Fremantle have been active in the trade period, securing 21-year-old McCarthy from GWS on Tuesday, before Hill joined on Thursday morning.
