Cottesloe Primary School has kick-started the fundraising efforts for the 2017 Starlight Purple Haze Game.
Now in its 16th year, the annual ‘Derby Day’ held at Cottesloe Primary School provides students the opportunity to show their support for both the Fremantle Dockers and the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
‘Derby Day’ is held each year in the week leading into the Carlton Draught Derby. Students are encouraged to dress in Fremantle apparel in exchange for a gold coin donation. Money raised is donated to Starlight.
The ‘Derby Day’ held on Friday 12 August raised more than $300.
The Starlight Children’s Foundation is dedicated to brightening the lives of seriously ill and hospitalised children and their families by providing positive interactions.
Each year the Fremantle Football Club hosts the Starlight Purple Haze Game to raise money for Starlight Children’s Foundation.
The annual match began in 2003 and has since grown to become a special community event on the club’s calendar.
The match is a fantastic community initiative, where much needed funds are raised for Starlight.
