Ahead of Fremantle’s clash with GWS at Spotless Stadium on Saturday afternoon, let’s look at some interesting facts from their clashes with the Giants.

Fremantle have only played Greater Western Sydney on five occasions since the expansion team’s inception in 2012, with each meeting between the two taking place at Domain Stadium. This will be Freo’s first game at Spotless Stadium.

Fremantle’s biggest ever winning margin occurred against GWS in 2013. Freo kicked their sixth biggest score (24.13 157) as they recorded a 113-point victory over the Giants (6.8 44) in Perth.

Freo’s former NAB Rising Star winner Rhys Palmer is currently on the Giants list. The 27 year-old won the Beacon Award at Fremantle in 2008 as well as the AFLPA Best First Year Player in the same season. Palmer played 53 games for Freo over four seasons, before becoming a member of the Giants inaugural squad in 2012.
