Season 2008 was Pavlich’s best. Fremantle finished 14th with six wins and 16 losses. Pavlich averaged 18.2 disposals, 7.3 marks, 3.5 goals and 1.7 tackles per game and received 17 Brownlow medal votes for the season. He also won the Doig medal, and was selected for the All-Australian team.

2012 saw Fremantle finish 14 wins and eight losses. Fremantle defeated Geelong by 16 points in the elimination final, and lost to Adelaide by 10 points in the semi finals. Pavlich averaged 17.4 disposals, 6.3 marks, three goals and 2.9 tackles per game and received 15 Brownlow votes for the season.
Season 2011 saw Fremantle finish 11th, with nine wins and 13 losses. Pavlich averaged 23.6 disposals, 3.6 marks, one goal and 4.3 tackles per game and received nine Brownlow votes for the season. He also won the Doig medal that season.

12 August 2007, round 19 v Essendon at Domain Stadium
This game was an incredibly special one for both Matthew Pavlich and the Fremantle Dockers. Essendon and Fremantle were both vying for a spot in the top eight and a chance at finals. Pavlich reached a milestone in this clash, slotting his 300th career goal. He finished the game with 30 disposals (22 kicks, eight handballs) 16 marks and six goals in the 63-point win over the Bombers, and received one Brownlow vote for his performance.
4 August 2012, round 19 v West Coast at Domain Stadium
Carlton Draught Derbies are normally a close contest, but Fremantle took the game with ease, as Pavlich lead from the front from the opening bounce, kicking the first two goals of the game within the first ten minutes. This game saw him overtake the leading goal kicker at the time, Drew Petrie as the new leader in the Coleman medal race. His eight majors beat the record for most goals kicked by a Fremantle player in a Carlton Draught Derby. He finished the game with 24 disposals (15 kicks, nine handballs), nine marks and eight goals in the 65-point win over the Eagles, and he received three Brownlow votes for his performance.
17 July 2005, round 16 v Carlton at the MCG
Fremantle were half a game outside of the top eight, and Carlton sat on the bottom of the tables, and had not won a game in 11 weeks, which Fremantle set to continue. As well as kicking his 150th career goal, Pavlich finished the game with 19 disposals (15 kicks, four handballs), nine marks and nine goals in the 35-point win over the Blues. Pavlich received three Brownlow votes for this game.
15 May 2009, round eight v Hawthorn at Domain Stadium
Despite a poor start to the season, Fremantle came into round eight sitting a game outside the top eight, and facing the reigning premiers, the winner of which would push its way into the top eight. Pavlich put up a great fight with his tackling pressure and aerial performance. His only goal was a long bomb from outside 50 and he finished the game with 30 disposals (20 kicks, 10 handballs) eight marks, eight tackles and a goal in the 22-point loss to the Hawks.
31 March 2012, round one v Geelong at Domain Stadium
The first round of the season saw Fremantle take on the reigning premiers Geelong at Domain Stadium, in their first game with new head coach, Ross Lyon. Pavlich, who was captain at the time, had been kept quiet by Geelong defender Andrew Mackie, but jumped at the chance to make an impact. Late in the final term of the game, Pavlich swept on a loose ball and kicked the game winner off the ground. He finished the game with 17 disposals (10 kicks, seven handballs), five marks, three tackles and three goals.
