Kids doing it tough at the Ronald McDonald House in Nedlands were all smiles on Monday afternoon when a few of their favourite Freo Dockers dropped by.
Ronald McDonald House ambassadors Alex Pearce, Cam Sutcliffe, Connor Blakely and Hayden Crozier visit the house on a monthly basis as part of their work for the Fremantle Dockers Foundation.
Ronald McDonald House is committed to helping parents with sick children, by providing accommodation to families at no cost, close to their child’s hospital.
Midfielder Connor Blakely said players really enjoy being able to make a difference off the field.
“Seeing these kids smile and enjoy themselves despite being sick is really inspiring,” Blakely said.
“As an AFL footballer I feel we have a responsibility to lead by example and give back to the community. This is a great chance to do that.
“Just having a chat over dinner or kicking the footy is enough to make a connection with the kids”.
