Fremantle captain Matthew Pavlich says finals are the most exciting time of the year for an AFL player.
But the club games record holder emphasised that Fremantle needs to make the most of its first minor premiership.
“I’m eager to take the opportunity that presents,” Pavlich said.
“It’s the first time in our existence as a footy club that we’ve finished minor premiers.
“It’s an exciting time for the football club and our fans.”
Pavlich said there was an added ‘buzz’ as the football season entered spring.
“It’s a great time to be playing footy, the sun is out, there is that smell in the air,” he said.
“There is no place better than just before an AFL final, you feel alive.
“You look each other in the eye, before you go to football war.”
