Fremantle midfielder Lachie Neale does not want team mate Nick Suban to alter his on-field aggression.

Suban was in the spotlight this week after he was bitten by West Coast’s Chris Masten during Sunday’s Carlton Draught Western Derby.

Masten receieved a two-game sanction over the incident on Tuesday.

Suban was called to the AFL tribunal to give evidence during a long hearing.

Neale said Suban played within the rules.

“Nick’s a really fierce competitor and we love the way he goes about his footy,” he said.

“On the field guys push the line and play hard and aggressive footy, that’s all he does.

“I don’t think he’s unsportsmanlike at all.

“He’s a really determined and aggressive player, that’s just the way he plays.”

Neale said Suban was not dwelling on the incident.

“Nick seems fine, he’s moved on and he’s ready to go this week,” he said.

“Nick’s a really valuable member of our team and he has a really strong character.”
