It may be a tried and tested cliché but Fremantle defender Garrick Ibbotson says Sunday’s Carlton Draught Derby is just another chance to get four points.
Ibbotson said it was an exciting week for the football community in WA but it was business as usual for both clubs.
“I think it’s more an outside thing,” he said.
“All the public love the derby, love the build up and the hype.
Fyfe in, McPharlin in doubt for Derby
“It’s an exciting week, but for us, it’s just another four points we want to try and bank.
“We tend to not read the newspapers too much, if we can help it.”
Ibbotson said the clash had added importance given both teams sit inside the top four with just four rounds to play.
“It’s a top of the table clash,” he said.
“Being in a two-team town, it’s going to be big.”
