With just five games left until finals, players could be forgiven for thinking of bigger things.

However, Fremantle’s Lachie Neale said the old cliché of one week at a time rings true.

“It’s easy to look at the bigger picture stuff with five rounds to go before finals, which is really exciting,” he said.

Loss to Saints still burns: Mundy

“We’ve had a mantra to take it one week at a time.

“It’s an old cliché in footy but so true that if you look too far ahead you can get caught out.”

From the Saints: Experience in the mix

Fremantle sit atop the AFL ladder heading into Sunday’s game against St Kilda, which Neale said is the sole focus at the club this week.

“We’ve got a big game against St Kilda at Etihad stadium and the guys are looking forward to that,” he said.

Fremantle play St Kilda at Domain Stadium on Sunday 9 August. Bounce down is at 4.40pm local time.
