Fremantle midfielder David Mundy was a notable absentee from Friday morning’s training session but senior coach Ross Lyon believes he will overcome a migraine before Sunday’s game.

Lyon said Mundy suffered from migraines and was unable to train with the main group at Fremantle Oval ahead of its clash with the Giants at Domain Stadium on Sunday.

“He had a migraine, he gets them,” Lyon said.

“He trained earlier in the week on Wednesday.

Fyfe will not be rushed

“We expect him to play.

“We’d be disappointed if he didn’t play.”

If Mundy was not available come Sunday, it could open the door for a potential debutant in Lachie Weller, Connor Blakely or Ed Langdon, who were listed in the TABtouch 22 squad on Thursday.

Lyon said in any case there would likely be a debutant this week and praised the trio for their performances with Peel Thunder.

TABtouch 22: Six added to squad

“They’ve been good, they’ve impacted the WAFL more than any other of our first year players have in my time,” he said.

“Langdon and Weller are great runners.

“Weller is a big midfielder.”

Fremantle play GWS at Domain Stadium on Sunday 2 August. Bounce down is at 2.40pm.

The final TABtouch 22 will be announced at fremantlefc.com.au at 3pm on Friday afternoon.
