Fremantle senior coach Ross Lyon says he is hopeful star midfielder Nat Fyfe will only miss one week with a groin injury.
Tabtouch 22: Six added to Sunday squad
Fyfe was ruled out of Sunday’s clash with the Giants earlier this week due to a groin injury that has plagued him in recent weeks.
Lyon said the injury would be managed a week at a time and Fyfe would not be rushed back.
Who will replace Fyfe?
“We are treating it as one week,” he said.
“I would love him available, it is a concern.
“We’re not resting him, he has a legitimate injury.”
Lyon said he would follow the advice of club doctors as to whether the two-time Doig Medallist would be available to play St Kilda next week.
“The doctors say he has a groin injury, it’s a bit sore we need to build up his strength, it could be one week or more, I say ‘ok, no worries’,” he said.
“We’re optimistic hopefully it’s less (rather) than more.”
Fyfe has been in classy touch this year averaging 29.5 disposals and this week was named as the No.1 player in the official AFL player rankings.
