It was a day the 16 participants of the 2015 Live the Dream program, presented by Decmil, will never forget.
On Friday, the program that gives the young Australians the chance to live the life of an AFL player for five days was launched at Fremantle Football Club.
Live the Dream offers participants a rare opportunity to develop skills and behaviours, which can deliver long-term benefits to the individual and their local community.
The program will include a tour of Fremantle headquarters and Domain Stadium, a survival base camp in Chidlow, a ropes course at Point Walter Recreation Camp in Bicton as well as leadership and health and well being training sessions.
The participants were teamed up with player mentors Michael Walters, Tommy Sheridan, Hayden Crozier, Nick Suban, Chris Mayne, Michael Johnson, Danyle Pearce and Zac Clarke.
Decmil general manager of construction and engineering west Tony Radalj said the company was proud to present Live the Dream.
“Live the Dream is a great opportunity to get people engaged in football,” he said.
“We’ve been fortunate to work with Fremantle for four to five years and it is good to be part of this program again.
“I hope you learn a lot of life skills and take that back to whatever town, community or club you’re from.”
