Fremantle’s ruck combination remains a work in progress with a number of talls in the mix, according to senior coach Ross Lyon.
While four-time All Australian Aaron Sandilands has been among the competition’s most dominant ruckmen in 2015 and is second in the AFL for total hit-outs, the second tall position is still up for grabs.
Fremantle has played Zac Clarke, Jack Hannath and Matt Taberner as secondary ruckman or tall forwards this season.
Big-bodied Jon Griffin is also in solid form for Peel Thunder, adding another name to the mix.
Lyon told 6PR on Monday night that the make-up of the ruck and tall forward combination was still a work in progress.
“We need to tinker with it,” he said.
“It’s not just their forward work but how they go in the ruck.”
Clarke and Griffin both put their names into the hat for a call-up to face Brisbane on Sunday after dominating, with 36 and 39 hit-outs respectively, for Peel Thunder in its 62-point win over Perth in the WAFL.

Taberner also kicked four goals after he was left out of last week’s side against Collingwood.
Hannath had 10 hit-outs against Collingwood but failed to hit the scoreboard in greasy conditions.
“It was difficult conditions,” Lyon said.
“We’ll have a good discussion…we need to look at it no doubt.”
