While the mid-season break may not be ideal for fans, it is a crucial time for the mental and physical health of players.
Fremantle players have four days off from Tuesday to Friday after 11 gruelling games of AFL that came after a tough pre-season.
Captain Matthew Pavlich said the break was important for both the body and mind.
“Anytime you can get a week off to freshen up is good,” he said.
“It’s a long year, it’s a marathon both the season itself and when you think all the way back to pre-season.
“The group is really looking forward to treating the break well and launching into the second half of the year.”
What are some of the players up to?
Matthew Pavlich: “It’ll be quiet, I'll just be around Perth with the family, I’m looking forward to that.”
Hayden Crozier: “I’ve got an exam and then off to Melbourne. I’m looking forward to seeing my family and a few friends.”
Clancee Pearce: "I’m heading to Kalbarri with Alex Silvagni and Jon Griffin for a few days away."
Tommy Sheridan and Alex Pearce headed to the south west for a getaway.
David Mundy: "I’ve got an exam, so not time to relax yet, but then I'll spend time with my family."
Cam Sutcliffe: "I’ll head back to Kadina in South Australia to see some family and friends."
Nat Fyfe: "I’ll head straight home to Lake Grace for a few days."
Craig Moller: "Unfortunately I’ve got a uni exam mid-week, hopefully then a day or two down south."
