Fremantle captain Matthew Pavlich is tipping the forwards to regain the impetus they had in the first few rounds after a quiet couple of weeks.
The side has been held to just 10 and six goals in the past two weeks respectively after averaging an impressive 14.5 goals in the first eight rounds.
While the wet conditions on the Gold Coast hampered the forwards, Fremantle was inaccurate, kicking 6.17 (53).
Pavlich is Fremantle’s leading goal scorer with 21, followed by Michael Walters with 18 and Chris Mayne and Nat Fyfe with 13 each.
Pavlich said ball-use and accuracy in front of goal had been an issue in the forward 50 in recent weeks.
“For the first 11 rounds of the season, we’ve been quite effective as a forward group,” he said.
“The last few weeks we haven’t been as efficient with our ball use and our execution in front of goal and therefore scoreboard pressure.”
Fremantle is ranked seventh in the competition for total points but have the least number of points kicked against by opponents with a miserly 701.
The side is the fifth most accurate in the competition at 52.6 per cent.
