Fremantle legend and 2015 AFL Hall of Fame inductee Peter Bell is urging Freo members and supporters to get behind the club’s new foundation.
Bell and Stephen Hill are ambassadors for the Fremantle Dockers Foundation that was launched on Friday morning.
The foundation will support important on and off-field work of the club.
A new chapter is ready to be written
Its initial project will be funding the opening of the Fremantle Dockers elite training and administration facility (ETAF) at Cockburn Central West.
Bell said the project was a significant and important event in the club’s history, the beginning of an exciting new era for our club.
“I am proud to be an ambassador for the foundation along with Stephen Hill,” he said.
“I want to give back to the club that gave me so much and I’m passionate about our future.”
Bell said ETAF would secure the club’s future on and off-field and build on its involvement in the community.
“It’s enormously exciting and I can’t wait to see the facility once work is complete,” he said.
“The size and scale of the project will enable the players to pursue elite standards and remain competitive in the ever evolving AFL.
The story behind Freo's first AFL Hall of Famer
“We’ve slipped behind when it comes to facilities and we’ve done extremely well to maintain our success despite having among the poorest facilities in the AFL.
Bell urged all supporters and members to support the Foundation.
“The call is out to all Fremantle members and supporters to donate what they can,” he said.
“Be part of the future of the Fremantle Dockers, please make a donation to this project today.
“I know our members and supporters want to ensure the longevity of Freo and we desperately need this facility."
