Fremantle midfielder Danyle Pearce said it is great that the AFL community puts such an emphasis on Indigenous Round each year.
Freo play the Crows at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night as part of the Indigenous Round that has grown in popularity amongst fans and players.
“It’s great to show a bit of recognition to the past and present Indigenous players,” Pearce said.
“It’s come a long way.
“Every year it gets better and better.”
Match Preview: Fremantle v Adelaide.
For Pearce, the match has extra significance, as it in his home state of South Australia.
“The whole family are coming down,” he said.
“It’s a great coincidence, getting to go back to Adelaide and celebrating Indigenous Round.”
