Nat Fyfe’s injury to his shoulder has been confirmed as a strained AC joint.
The 2014 Doig Medallist injured his right shoulder when diving for a mark in the closing minutes of a practice game in Sydney on Monday ahead of the Virgin Australia International Rules Test match against Ireland on Saturday at Patersons Stadium.
Fyfe had scans earlier today after arriving back in Perth last night with the rest of the Australian squad.
Fremantle medical staff are awaiting further assessment of the scans by a specialist but initial indications are that the injury will not have a significant impact on the 23-year-old’s pre-season campaign.
The club can also confirm Fyfe will not play in Saturday’s test match against Ireland.
