Nathan Fyfe did not train on Wednesday, but Ross Lyon says the star midfielder is still on track to play against Adelaide on Sunday.

Speaking at his mid-week media conference, the Freo senior coach said Fyfe should train on Friday ahead of the Patersons Stadium clash.

Fyfe sustained an ankle injury in the win over the Western Bulldogs.

“It’s ok, it's swollen,” Lyon said.

“But he didn't suffer any severe damage. He won't train today but he should train Friday, and if he jumps all the hurdles, he should play.

“So we're really quite confident.”

Matthew Pavlich was also not on the track, but that’s no surprise at this stage of the club legend’s career.

Luke McPharlin only ran laps of Fremantle Oval, but he also is a player the club manages, particularly early in the week following a game.

“Certainly, he's a little bit sore so he'll just look after himself today,” Lyon said of his All Australian defender.

“Etihad (Stadium) is a hard surface with the car park underneath and the concrete foundation, it makes it a bit harder.”

Stephen Hill appeared to hurt his leg in the third quarter of Sunday’s game, but he played out the game and was one of the club’s best.

He ran laps with Danyle Pearce at Wednesday’s training session.
