Fremantle has been ranked the number one club in the competition for on-field apparel sales in 2014.

The AFL advised clubs of their rankings for on-field apparel sales on Thursday, with Freo jumping from third in 2013 to top spot in 2014.

Hawthorn was the number one ranked club for on-field apparel sales last year.

Fremantle accounted for 10.5 per cent of total on-field apparel club sales across the AFL.

Freo was also the only club to exceed 10 per cent of the total market, with the other 17 clubs all registering single figures.

The top-five selling Freo items in 2014 were the home guernsey, clash guernsey, purple player’s polo, men’s performance hoodie and the training singlet.

The club’s online sales via www.fremantlefc.com.au grew significantly and were sent to 45 different countries with an average of 700 orders received each month.

Besides Australia, the UK, USA, Canada and New Zealand made up the rest of the top-five countries where merchandise was sent.

Fremantle CEO Steve Rosich said the result was a fantastic achievement with the help of official apparel supplier ISC, who have been on board since 2011.

“There's no doubt that last year's Grand Final appearance and the fact that we've now played four finals series out of the past five has had an impact on support, as evidenced by record membership levels and sell-out games," Rosich said.

"That's also flowing through to merchandise sales.

"It's a terrific reflection on the club and our brand, but it's also a reflection on our supporters, who as a support group are very engaged with the football club and look to wear their club's colours with pride.

"This result is an indication that our members and fans want to wear the gear that the players wear."

ISC CEO Brett Corrick said the apparel supplier was pleased to be associated with Fremantle.

“The ISC and Fremantle Dockers brands are closely aligned and this result is a great reflection of the strength of our partnership," he said.

Fremantle’s 2015 ISC range will be available online and at the club’s two team stores in early December.
