Fremantle has shored up two critical components of its pursuit for sustained success, with contract extensions for star midfielder Nat Fyfe and co-major sponsor Programmed.
Fyfe’s signature keeps one of the best talents in the land in purple for another three years, while Programmed’s four-year extension means it will enter its seventh season as co-major sponsor.
Fremantle chief executive officer Steve Rosich said the club was excited to make bothannouncements.
“Programmed are an ASX listed company, a proud West Australian company competing on the national stage with a strong people focus,” he said.
“We are delighted with their four-year extension which takes it to a minimum 10 year co-major partnership of the football club.
Programmed joined the Fremantle Dockers as a corporate partner in 1995 and is a co-major with Woodside.
Programmed managing director Chris Sutherland said thecompany was extremely pleased to renew its sponsorship with Fremantle, which he said had similar values.
“Programmed invests with Fremantle because of their passion, blue collar work ethic and team focus that aligns with our values and with the teams of our blue collar field employees all across the nation,” he said.
“The partnership with Fremantle enables us to deepen our engagement with all of our 10,000 employees and helps us build relationships with thousands of customers across Australia.”
As a major sponsor, Sutherland said Programmed were also very happy to see the club retain one of its superstars.
“Programmed is really excited that Nat Fyfe has also extended his contract in line with us, as he is very popular among all our staff and customers,” he said.
Fyfe said he was pleased to have resolved his contract negotiations with Fremantle swiftly and added it had not been a distraction to his game.
“Footy clubs are great at keeping the players insulated and really focused on the job at hand, which is playing footy week in, week out,” he said.
“I am really pleased and happy to move forward and play some good footy for Fremantle over the years.”
