Fremantle’s AFLW side will go in unchanged for the first time this season for the round three clash against Collingwood at Fremantle Oval on Saturday afternoon.
Senior coach Trent Cooper has placed his full faith in the same team that defeated West Coast by 45 points in last Saturday’s RAC Derby at Optus Stadium.
Cooper said it would be a difficult task to take anyone out of the side.
“It’s very hard to make changes to a team that played as well as we did on the weekend, with everyone contributing really well,” Cooper said.
“It’s also really pleasing that the girls outside the squad are training really well and we’ve got a lot of faith that they can step in whenever it’s needed.
“But we’re going in with an unchanged lineup against Collingwood, based on how well the girls played last weekend.”
Last week’s debutant Bianca Webb will play her first game at Fremantle Oval, after an impressive first game in purple against West Coast.
Cooper felt it was an easy decision to keep her in the side.
“Bianca did a great job, she had to cover us throughout the game in different positions,” Cooper said.
“I thought between her and Kiara Bowers, her first quarter really set the standard with her tackling pressure and she held her spot comfortably.”
Cooper said this Saturday’s clash against Collingwood will bring extra meaning for the girls, as they run out in the club’s first ever AFLW Indigenous jumper designed by midfielder Jasmin Stewart.
“We watched a video on the meaning behind our Indigenous jumper before training on Tuesday night,” Cooper said.
“It is really special because of how much work the girls have put into the jumper along with Aunty Colleen Hayward and Uncle Richard Walley.
“It’s a really special moment and the first time that we are wearing the Indigenous jumper, so I’m sure the girls will do it proud.”
Bouncedown for the clash is at 4.10pm WST and entry is free, with gates open from 3pm.
