Sean Darcy could be back as early as round 14 against GWS, with the ruckman progressing well in his recovery from a hamstring injury.
Darcy sustained the injury during the Walyalup v Narrm clash at the MCG on Saturday 27 May, and is expected to spend a further one to two weeks on the sidelines.
It means he is targeting a return against GWS or the following week against Essendon at Optus Stadium in round 15.
High Performance Manager Phil Merriman said he’d seen good results from Darcy on the track.
“Sean’s progressing really well,” Merriman said.
“He’s reached some good running speeds in his reconditioning program. We’d expect to see him in around one to two weeks.”
Michael Walters is a test to face Richmond on Saturday night at Optus Stadium, with the forward sitting out the Narrm clash due to a calf injury.
“Sonny has been really good through his reconditioning program,” Merriman said.
“He’s ticked every box so far. He’ll be a test to play this week, so hopefully he gets through.”
Merriman said the Club would be conservative with Heath Chapman and his recovery from a hamstring injury.
Chapman last played in round three against West Coast, where he was subbed off with a calf injury.
In early April, he injured his hamstring at training as he was building for a return to play.
“Heath’s progressed really well. With his injury history, we want to make sure we tick every box along the way,” Merriman said.
“We expect to see him in the next three or four weeks.”
Draftee ruckman Max Knobel is a test to return to play after missing Peel’s clash with Subiaco on Sunday.
“Max copped a big whack into the back of his knee causing a solid contusion,” Merriman said.
“He didn’t quite get up for last week’s game, he’ll be a test to play but we expect to see him out there this weekend.”
